Brewers Lose Series Finale To Phillies 4-2

The Milwaukee Brewers lost to the Philadelphia Phillies 4-2 on Sunday afternoon.

The Brewers got out to a quick lead with a solo home run from William Contreras in the first inning. In the third inning, Mark Canha hit a solo home run to extend the Brewers lead to 2-0.

Wade Miley cruised for much of his outing on Sunday on the mound for the Brewers. He took a no-hitter into the sixth inning, but the Phillies dashed those hopes with a hard single past third baseman Andruw Monasterio. The Phillies scored a run in the inning to cut the deficit to 2-1.

In the seventh inning, Miley wasn't able to hold the Phillies any longer. Back-to-back home runs from Alec Bohm and J.T. Realmuto gave the Phillies the lead 3-2. They added another run after Abner Uribe came into the game, and Philadelphia led 4-2.

The Brewers were able to muster some base runners in the final three innings, but no runs were scored. The Phillies won 4-2.

The Brewers are 76-60 and 3.5 games ahead of the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central. They will head to Pittsburgh for a three-game series starting tomorrow night. First pitch is at 5:35pm. After the game, listen to the Baseball Postgame Show with Tim Allen on 973 The Game in Milwaukee or the iHeart Radio App.
